This year from 4th to 11th Sept, 2016, the Community Problem diagnosis course in an MSc in Applied Human Nutrition, was carried out in Seme Sub-county – Kit Mikayi in Kisumu County. The students met the chief and sub Chief for a brief talk on the area population and socio-demographic (The Deputy County Commissioner was informed the week before). With the help of field guides, the students collected nutritional data and stool samples of underfives’ in three villages (out of 14). They carried out a market survey at Kombewa market and did the stool analysis/simple blood tests at Rodi Dispensary. There was a finding dissemination meeting on Saturday, 10th 2016, where all the Households in Kit Mikayi were invited. The students lived at Arom centre Hotel in Kombewa, which had a good hall facility where they did the data entry and used internet Word.
