Dr. George Ooko Abong (third left), a lecturer at the Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Technology joined Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), the American giant food association as a member of the New Professional Working Group during council meeting that took place on 15-16 November 2016, Chicago in the United States of America. As a former participant of Emerging Leaders Network of IFT and current Chair of the Food Science and Technology Platform of Kenya, he carries along professional and leadership experience that was identified by IFT as being valuable towards improving the new professional’s engagement with associations and Science world.
