The University of Nairobi has formally installed Eng. Prof. Ayub N. Gitau as its 9th Vice-Chancellor.
The Installation Ceremony was held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Taifa Hall, Main Campus, The colourful ceremony marked a significant milestone in the history of the University and was conducted in accordance with the University's statutes, traditions, and established protocols.
The ceremony brought together members of the University community, government officials, distinguished guests, and other stakeholders to witness the formal installation of Eng. Prof. Ayub N. Gitau as the University's 9th Vice-Chancellor.
Prof. Catherine Kunyanga, Associate Dean and Associate Professor in the Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Technology, was among the University representatives who attended the ceremony.
The Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Technology congratulates Eng. Prof. Ayub N. Gitau on his appointment and installation.. The Department wishes him success, wisdom, and fulfilment as he assumes the leadership of the University and steers it towards continued excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement.
