The Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, Prof. S.G. Kiama addressed the University Virtually on July 24, 2020, in his speech he said the University will open in September and classes will be done online.

Mr. Duke Gekonge Omayio , a Phd student and a part-time Lecturer from the Department of Food Science, Nutrition, and Technology is among the 20 international student travel grant awardees to attend this years’ International Association of Food Protection (IAFP) Conference in Cleaveland, Ohio - United States of America. Mr. Gekonge is undertaking a Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology under the Fruits and Vegetables for all Seasons project (FruVaSe, 2018-2021) The Department congratulates him for this achievement and wishes him all the best.
