Mr. Duke Gekonge Omayio , a Phd student and a part-time Lecturer from the Department of Food Science, Nutrition, and Technology is among the 20 international student travel grant awardees to attend this years’ International Association of Food Protection (IAFP) Conference in Cleaveland, Ohio - United States of America. Mr. Gekonge is undertaking a Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology under the Fruits and Vegetables for all Seasons project (FruVaSe, 2018-2021) The Department congratulates him for this achievement and wishes him all the best.

The University of Nairobi through the SAP project established a food processing hub at the Department of Food Science and Technology fully equipped with small scale mango processing equipment and machines.
